Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder believes she is Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. She has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. In the year Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated into Mendocino County California. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder who loved reading at the age of 12, became a bookworm due to the fact that Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder, then 12, enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas she was only 15 years old. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Her hope was that acting would bring about a change. Sadly that didn't happen. However, she pushed on with her dream. In 1988, she got her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue playing roles that were successful in various films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running twice for Academy Awards.
